Winter Wonderland & Letter to Father Christmas in partnership with Thetford Town Council

Chilterns are delighted to be working in partnership with Thetford Town Council as part of the Winter Wonderland celebrations in Kings House & Gardens on Friday 29th November and Saturday 30th November.

The event which was hugely popular last year has evolved and become even bigger and better this year with activities including; Father Christmas' workshop, 'Letter to Father Christmas', music in King's Square, funfair rides (kindly provided by Larry Gray on the Friday evening) on the market place and activities 'On The Green', including a Disney Music for the children.

The celebrations begin on Friday 29th November 2019 at 16:00 and run through to 20:00 with Father Christmas arriving by 'river sleigh' at 16:00 'on the green' at Riverside, where there will be an opportunity for your children to meet and greet him personally. From there he will continue in his more traditional sleigh to tour the town centre, arriving at Kings House at 17:00. The Christmas lights will be switched on by Mayor, Brenda Canham at 18:15.

Throughout the evening there will be a variety of stalls along Kings Street and outside Kings House, offering a range of Christmas refreshments, craft activities and Zak FM will providing entertainment in Kings Square also.

Father Christmas' Workshop / Letter from Father Christmas

One of the highlights of the weekend is the opportunity to visit Father Christmas' Workshop, where children will be offered the chance to write to Father Christmas and get their very own reply and certificate, which will tell them if they have made the 'nice' or 'naughty' list. Each child will receive a present from Father Christmas, have the opportunity to have their photo taken with him (don't forget your cameras) and get to meet his helpers. The cost is £2.50.

For those who are unable to visit the workshop you can download the letter from our website, visit our offices in Thetford, Brandon or Mildenhall or the Thetford Town Council offices based at The Carnegie on Cage Lane and then return the letter not forgetting to ensure your child's name and address are written clearly on it to one of those locations, we will ensure that each child gets a reply!
